Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Moss 107 Review

Shade 107: 'Wine'
After purchasing a few of the Kate Moss Rimmel lipsticks recently, I knew that I would be going back for more shades because I have loved wearing them so much. Whilst I was in town a few weeks ago I took the opportunity to buy a shade which I have had my eye on for a while now.
As I had been impressed with the other Kate Moss lipsticks in the Rimmel collection, I had high expectations for this product and it is safe to say I wasn't disappointed.

Shade 107 or 'Wine' is a beautiful dark red, which is perfect for the time of year. Admittedly I was expecting it to be a bit darker on the lips as it appears to be quite dark in the packaging but nevertheless I have still fallen in love with this product. Although I think it is supposed to be matte, it still has a slight gloss to it which I think is a good thing because it means that the product helps to keep the lips hydrated. Another positive about this lipstick is that it has considerable staying power, I found myself only usually reapplying after eating or drinking.
The lipstick applies so easily and you are able to build up the colour with a few coats to make your lips really stand out. With this lipstick you don't need to go overboard with the rest of your makeup either, and this could easily be worn to both events and during the evening as well as during the day.

Perhaps one of the biggest positives of this product is the price. Costing only £5.49 it is fantastic value for money and with drugstores regularly having deals on, you can pick these lipsticks up for a bargain price. Even if you don't think this colour is for you, the range has so many different colours to choose from, there is something for everybody!

If you are looking for a new lipstick to signal the arrival of the Autumn/Winter season, I would definitely recommend this little beauty. You will not be disappointed.

Countryside Walk

One thing I love about living where I do is that away from the docks and the main town and industrialisation, there is a lot of countryside nearby. I regularly walk my dog around these countryside paths and brought my camera along with me on sunny evening to capture just how beautiful the views are. Luckily it was a lovely evening and it was great to enjoy the last of the summer sun.
To be honest, I think I went a little snap happy and it was impossible to narrow it down to just a few shots for this post. Instead of talking through each shot I am just going to let the photos do the talking and add an odd comment here and there.

During our countryside walk, there is a great vantage point where you can see the docks and this is just a reminder of the real world. It is so easy to relax and forget about your daily life and stresses when you are in the countryside and at this point in the walk I get a reminder of everything that is going on.

This is my favourite picture of the day. My beagle was just looking into the distance and I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to snap away. It wasn't until I got home until I realised the colours that I captured in this photograph and it really reminds me of Autumn and the end of summer.

I love taking walks in the countryside and find that it is a great way to relax. It is a great stress relief and I also find myself thinking about different aspects of my life as well. I plan to take some more pictures again when autumn is in full swing and again in winter and spring to emphasise just how much the environment changes throughout the year.

NOTD: Ruby Fruit

To get in the spirit of autumn and to have a change from my usual go to nail polish brand of Barry M today I've used a polish by Max Factor. This is the only nail polish from max factor in my collection and it is a dark red, almost black shade called 'Ruby Fruit.' I think I've only actually worn this a couple of times previously and when I was looking through my collection it caught my eye. I think it is a perfect colour for autumn and it certainly contrasts to the brights and pastel shades that I was wearing during the summer.

I found that the consistency of this nail polish was really lovely, not too thick or thin and the brush can hold a fair amount of polish. Also the brush is really long, so you can easily reach all of your nails without getting it on your skin. I also applied two coats of this polish, but I think you could easily get away with one, but two coats makes the colour look very intense.

Another thing I really love about this nail polish is that in some lights it looks really dark and almost black whilst in others it looks red. It makes it seem as though you are wearing two polishes at once! One thing I'm not looking forward to though is taking it off because I'm pretty sure it will stain my nails, so I'm planning on keeping it on as long as possible.
