Ever since I brought my first ever DSLR camera 3 years ago, I have loved taking my own photographs. I also studied photography for one of my A Levels and I've learnt all about composition and other techniques that you can use to create an interesting photograph.
I was encouraged during my photography course to take a lot of photos and this is something that I have continued ever since. I've also learnt a lot about the type of photographs that I enjoy taking, and by far my favourite are landscapes and nature.
Whilst I was house-sitting for my mum and step-dad whilst they were on holiday, one evening I looked out the window and saw this amazing sunset. I immediately had to grab my camera because of how amazing the sky looked.

In particular, I really love the contrast between the orange/yellow at the bottom and the blue/grey sky at the top. I think this makes the photo look really dramatic as well.
I also really like the silhouettes of the trees and the building across the bottom of the image. Some people say that the town which I live in is horrible, but I think this picture proves that you can really get some beautiful images if you think about what you are capturing and you are creative. Yes I know that it is the sky that makes this picture, but it was captured in the town I live in. Which I think still counts.
